National WIHS

The Women’s Interagency HIV Study is a collaborative, longitudinal study that is funded by the National Institutes of Health.  The multi-agency effort aims to study the natural history and impact of HIV on women in the United States. 

The core of the national study includes an in depth structured interview, physical and gynecologic examinations, as well as laboratory testing.  Participants are also invited to participate in various sub-studies related to HIV.  Examples of neurocogntion, cardiovascular, and metabolic studies.
